Andrew Charles

Dog Training & Behaviour

Mixing the science of animal behaviour and training with hands-on clinical experience

A Warm Welcome

Hi, I'm Andrew, owner of Roo's K9s.

I hold a HE Cert in Applied Canine Behaviour and Training from University Centre Bishop Burton, and I’m preparing to join the second year of a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Training (Clinical), a pathway specifically designed to develop the next generation of clinical animal behaviourists.

A  little bit about me

Alongside my studies, I am a member of Clinical behaviourist Rosie Bescoby’s Pet Sense mentorship programme, meaning any cases I need additional support with I have some of the best clinical minds in the field. For more complex or multi-layered cases, I also work collaboratively with other local trainers and behaviourists, ensuring every dog gets the depth of thinking their situation deserves.

My approach is welfare-centred and evidenced-based, grounded in an understanding of why dogs behave the way they do and not just how to modify it. I believe that good training and behaviour work comes from bringing together the relevant scientific literature and clinical experience.
