Training & Behaviour Assessment
Before beginning any 1:1 work or walk & trains, all new clients start with a comprehensive training and behaviour assessment. This is the foundation all the future work will be built on, and where the real work begins!
The assessment is a thorough, clinical process that allows me to get a detailed picture of you and your dog. In the lead-up to your session, I'll carry out a detailed analysis of the information gathered through your completed intake form, reviewing your dogs history, routine, behaviour, and training concerns before we've even met. This means your session time is spent doing and not just discussing.
On the day, we will spent 90-120 minutes together where I will observe you and your dog across various situations, identify the underlying drivers of any problematic behaviours or training difficulties, and begin formulating and implementing practical strategies from the outset.
Following your session, you will receive a full written post-assessment report and personalised training guide. This guide is a detailed clinical document outlining my findings, the formulation behind them, and a clear, tailored plan for moving forward. This is yours to keep and refer back to throughout your training journey
It is also recommended for the report to be shared with your veterinary practice and any other dog establishment where your dogs behaviour is a relevant factor e.g. Kennel, day-care, groomer
What you will come away with:
-
A clear understanding of why your dog is behaving the way they are, not just what to do about it
-
Practical management and training strategies started in-session
-
A written assessment report and training guide personalised to you and your dog
-
The confidence and knowledge to move forward effectively
In some cases, the single assessment session is all that is needed to set you on the path to success. Either way, you will leave with more than just advice. You will leave with a new plan and the confidence to apply it!
